Man accused of fatally shooting five neighbors in Texas arrested after four-day manhunt

Francisco Oropesa Perez-Torres, a man accused of fatally shooting five of his neighbors in Cleveland, Texas, has been arrested after a four-day manhunt, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.[0] Although Oropesa's current immigration status is unclear, he had entered the US illegally and been deported by immigration officials at least four times since 2009.[1] An ICE source identified him as Francisco Oropesa Perez-Torres.[2] The victims were identified as Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25; Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21; Julisa Molina Rivera, 31; Jose Jonathan Casarez, 18; and Daniel Enrique Laso, 9.[3] The victims were all Honduran nationals.[4] The massacre occurred after neighbors asked Oropesa to stop shooting his AR-15 in his yard because a newborn was trying to sleep.[5] His wife and 9-year-old son were among the fatalities.[6] Charges will be brought against Oropesa for the fatal shootings of five individuals in a residence located next to his property near Cleveland, Texas.[7] He will be held on five counts of murder with bond set at $5 million.
